Quarry Rehabilitation Plan

The zone surrounding the quarry will undergo rehabilitation works to remove evidence of workings. The rehabilitation of the quarry will create a spectacular lake just to the north west of Geelong, as well as create significant green space and restore ecosystems surrounding the site. Significant works have already been undertaken and continue in the quarry rehabilitation project.

It is the intention to have the bulk of rehabilitation works completed by the time quarry activity ceases. The rehabilitation works have been underway since December 2018 and ongoing works continue. After the final rehabilitation and filling of the quarry, the rehabilitation work will be monitored and maintained as the site stabilises and is transformed into an attraction and feature of the region.
